My name is Lauren Radziejewska, founder and lead technician here at Lavender Locksmith. I am a New York City native who started my professional life as a sculptor and print maker. I have have always had a deep love of and aptitude with tools and mechanics. Over the years, like many women and people in the LBGTQi community, I found myself the victim of objectification, misogyny and homophobia at the hands of contractors and tradespeople I had hired. This experience converged with my love of lock sport (picking and disassembling locks for fun and in competition) and helped me create NYC’s only locksmith specifically built to provide comprehensive service without any of the sleaziness or bad feelings that often accompany hiring a contractor. After completing my training, and with a bah-jillion keys cut under my belt, I was so proud to finally become a fully licensed locksmith, qualified for all residential and commercial work. Now, I am determined to treat everyone with fairness, understanding and respect for their humanity, their choices and their person. I insist upon upfront pricing, transparency and collaboration with my customers so that they feel empowered and comfortable.
