Lavender Locksmith is the brainchild of artist and licensed NYC locksmith Lauren Radziejewska. What started as a hobby, learning to fix and pick locks, quickly became Lauren’s go-to work for when the art income just didn’t cut it. With every job women, LBGTQ folks and other marginalized groups expressed their relief that they did not have to worry about being hit on, talked down to or judged by the tradesperson they had hired. From being misgendered, propositioned, slighted and worse, people shared some really alarming stories. Lauren knew exactly what these folks were going through, as she had experienced much of the same treatment, even from colleagues in the profession. One night it dawned on her that people needed a Locksmith Service that was dedicated to providing physical AND emotional safety, and just like that, Lavender Locksmith was born!
